Maritime Art Gallery of the Odessa Port

on 3-28 November, 2006
presents the exhibition

Tatiana Yablonskaya.
Painting.
From the Family Collection.

The exhibition will display 50 works by T.Yablonskaya created throughout her life. It will consist of two parts. The first part includes traditional oil paintings. Viewers will be able to see several portraits dating back to the 1960s as well as chamber canvases depicted in the 1990s when the artist was keen on perfecting the visual language and switched to fundamental absence of subject. The second part of the show will consist of pastels on toned paper created during the last five years of the painter’s life. Here this absence of subject manifested itself even more intensely – the artist managed to express the subtlest emotions with the help of minimal artistic means.
In the history of the Ukrainian art there are such bright personalities whose creative career becomes a kind of milestone of unsurpassed mastery, endless love and social courage. They flare up like brilliant stars in the boundless Space of world culture, having absorbed the best that was created by their greatest predecessors, processed this heritage through their heart and mind, filled and enriched it with their feelings and world outlook. Such personalities begin a new stage in art with their magnificent work.

Her art is perceived as part of the Ukrainian people. It expresses the thoughts and feelings of Ukrainians not only by acutely perceiving the majestic beauty of Ukraine but also thanks to a wonderful zest for life.
